Bank One has announced special loan programs to assist individuals and small businesses in Louisiana with disaster-related expenses as a result of flooding from Tropical Storm Allison.
The programs feature discounted rates, and borrowers can defer the first payment up to 90 days. To qualify, the individuals or businesses must be located within the 25 parishes that Gov. Mike Foster has declared a major disaster area. The loans will be available through Sept. 12.
Individuals can borrow from $1,000 to $25,000, and the loans are 2 percent below the current interest rate with no loan fee. To apply for these personal unsecured 1oans, call (877) 663-2778.
The small business loan program is essentially the same, but loans range from $5,000 to $35,000.
Additional information is available at a branch location in one of the affected parishes, or by calling (800) 404-4111.
